This is the title of a blog that I wrote for Fire Chief Magazine's on-line edition. In the blog, I compare the plight of fire chiefs with the California sardine industry back in the 1950's. The sardine industry ignored the obvious until it was too late, and I think that fire chiefs are repeating the same mistake.
